Founded in 1913 by Azariel Blanchard Miller and incorporated in 1952, Fontana is a city in San Bernardino County located approximately 50 minutes from Los Angeles. During its establishment, Fontana began as an agricultural community and eventually grew into a flourishing industrial town in 1942, thanks to the opening of Henry J. Kaiser’s steel mill operations on the outskirts of town during World War II. Presently, Fontana is the second-largest city in San Bernardino County, with a population of about 211,815 people.
